Is avocado a fruit or what?

Back when I was a kid, mother would always make avocado milk shake when it was in season. She would come back from the market with a plastic bag full of ripe avocados and my mouth would water instantly. We didn’t have a fridge that time so she would ask me to go the nearby sarisari store to buy ice sold at one peso each. My older sisters would scoop out the avocado and slice it into cubes while mother would open a can of condensed milk and crush the ice. She would pour all the ingredients in a large bowl as I and the younger siblings looked with gusto. Those were fun memories back then, even if a glass of avocado shake wasn’t enough for my little tummy. I would’ve wanted another helping, but hey, with six siblings, not possible. Lol
What moment do you remember with your siblings?
Photo is avocado pizza, not avocado shake.

My grandmother had a big coconut tree in her front yard, as well as a large mango tree. I loved coconuts, but hated mangos, and my brother was the exact opposite. So when we were little, I'd climb the coconut tree and grab coconuts for myself, and my brother would climb the mango tree to get mangos for himself. Then we'd sit in the yard and eat them until we'd get sick to our stomachs!
And by the way, I love avocados! I could eat them at every meal, every day, and never get tired of them!

@sol_cee She lived in south Florida, near Miami. Florida is very tropical in nature, especially in south Florida near Fort Lauderdale and Miami, so many tropical fruits and vegetables thrive there. Growing up, my parents had an avocado tree in their backyard, we would eat all the fruit off the tree. We also had banana trees, orange trees, and lemon and lime trees.

It's technically a fruit, isn't it? Because of the seed? And I know some countries treat it like a fruit like how you have it in a sweet shake. But I use it like a vegetable - like in a salad or guacamole (a savory) - hard for me to think of it for a sweet.
I remember my younger sister used to spoon hot chocolate (the drink) onto white bread and she'd eat it - grossed me out every time she did it .

Avocado is very much a fruit, but of course, it can be used with vegetables and all that. It is just like a tomato, it is a fruit but we don't eat it with fruits haha Avocados are interesting, I am a bit picky with it, but it can be enjoyable. My only good memory with avocados was when my stepbrother was trying to make guacamole and he was using the squeezable lemon juice and thought the lemon juice would taste like lemonade and his face was so puckered it was great haha.

Since there are 15 years in between ages of myself and my brother, I only have memories of him as a baby while I was still living at home. I loved taking pictures of him and had my own album of him from infant up to 2 years old. He was very spoiled and always cried when a date would come to pick me up. That was always funny.

I never had an avocado milkshake. Have you ever had avocado omelet. So good! Though my husband is not a fan.

In NZ, they use sliced avocado as filling for their sandwich and they're surprised we're eating avocado the way you used to eat when you were kids.

I love avocadoes, but they are quite expensive. I use it to make guacamole.
