Two old fools and a young one

Yep, hubby and I are two old fools. He had supper ready when I got home, except. . . I was hungry for Asian food, and guess what, so was he. So we decided to head off, right in the middle of a snow storm. We drove 35 miles to go to the Golden Asian Buffet. The slow drive back made us question our own foolishness.
It has been snowing and melting all day. Tonight it is snowing, blowing, and sticking.
The young fool? Tinker. . . he walked out the front door when I came in, and he has not come back yet. He is out tom catting in the snow. Young fool. Either that or he has found a place to hole up and wait. Mickey did not want out in the snow.
I wonder if we will have school tomorrow. So far not that much accumulation.

It was still light and was not accumulating when we left. It just made a long drive back as the storm increased after dark.

I am thinking that when the snow came down and was wet he could not smell home. I put his favorite toy outside and he found us.

If I had had what I wanted on hand I would have. The cat was back about bed time.

Young fool made it home as well. I am going to guess he could not get a good scent because of the snow. We put his favorite toy outdoors and he showed up quickly.

You really must have wanted that food badly. I am glad you got home safely and hope Tinker is fine. Mickey was smart not to want to go out in the snow.

I probably would have just sat at home, if I was alone.

He eventually came back to the door. He may have been confused in the snow.

I often want these foods when I am trying to heal a cold. It may be the ginger in it. Hubby does the miso soup.

@GardenGerty Yes! Ginger is excellent - and miso soup too (especially for the digestive system). Wise choice to go then

This is not anything that was prepared in China, probably is not even authentic.

@GardenGerty No, but the only people in our country who have had a confirmed diagnosis are of Chinese descent who have travelled from China very recently.

I put his stuffed toy outside and I think he smelled it and found his way home. I had read somewhere that you should put a litter box outdoors when a cat is missing and the smell will help them come home.

We just drove slowly. It was not supposed to snow that much or that long. Once again the weatherman was fooled.

The cat got back fine. I think he just got confused in the snow. No familiar smells. I put his favorite toy outside and he came back.

He grew up driving in snow storms so he is well experienced. We called school off the next day.
