I also think saris are beautiful. It seems here that the brides will also wear gold necklaces, bracelets and so on in the wedding feast. It is a kind of tradition. The color red is also an important element in the wedding.

You both look so great. I work with a couple of girls that were married over there and they have shown me their wedding books. The outfits and jewelry that they wear is amazing. I am sure that in person it is much more stunning then even the photos that I have been shown.

The amount of gold and glitter was incredible. Really rich looking gowns and fabrics then all this jewellery as well.

Well, that is a simple wedding. If you were to see some of ours, (Our folks are truly extravagant) you would realize how much we waste just to have others remember the event. Nothing less than 10500 AUD ..that too when the folks can ill afford. Borrow heavily for the event. Become poor in the process. And only rich folks get invited. Others are ignored even if they attend. So yeah, Hindu functions are not exactly what I look forward to but that may essentially be because of the ones I have known in my life. There is bickering on return gifts, etc. I hate functions. Sorry. But you two do look happy. As long as you are an outsider, and are not a party to inner politics, it can be a fun I suppose.

@JudyEv Do such differences crop up about return gifts at your end too? I hate gifting sessions altogether. They are so mean! They compare costs and if they do not like color they are fighting over it.

We enjoyed it. It was only the jewellery that was that price. The ceremonies would have been very expensive. Hopefully there won't be too much bickering but I'm sure it happens.

That’s such a lovely photo. You all look incredible! I’m so happy the wedding was so wonderful. Our daughter-in-law told me last night that she and her sister attended a wedding on one of their trips to Nepal. They both found it so unique!
