Lovely surprise...

Photo I took of the envelope I received in the mail.

I had taken Angel for a second walk (she doesn't care how close together they are), and when I came home I got the mail out of the mailbox. There wasn't much of importance in the mail today, but when I came in, I noted that I had left yesterday's mail on the table in the entryway, so I picked it up. Almost immediately I noticed the above envelope, so I opened it. It was from someone who had seen my name in a friendship book (a little book that gets passed around from pen pal to pen pal, recipient put info about what they are looking for in a pen pal and pass it on), and saw that I was looking for pen pals in Japan. It's not "pen pals" day on my "project calendar", but I may start a letter back to her this evening. Hope you've gotten some pleasant mail recently.

I am surprised that "pen pal" is still in fashion in this digital age. Now this reminds me that I had several pen pals when I was younger.... mostly girls, waheehee.

It's always cool to receive mail from overseas. I always look forward to my postcards from postcrossing.
