I didn't see the president talk last night but I read about it this morning and again, the Dems giving themselves a bad name in my opinion. When Trump started to talk about medication cost the Dems decided it would be a good time to chant over him.
What were they chanting, HR 3, now some of you might ask. What is HR 3? Well, it is the Elijah E. Cummings Lower Drug Costs Now Act. I of course will be honest as I always have been about politics, I'm no expert and I don't know the details about this Act but I do remember a little thing called The Affordable Healthcare Act aka Obamacare. That also came from the Democrats so it's a little hard for me to believe this "lower drug cost" is actually lower the costs.
I know for me and just about everyone I know, when the Affordable Healthcare Act kicked in my cost went up. Before it I was paying about $176 a month for a family of 5 with health, dental, and vision. Then it kicked in and my cost went to $320 a month but no vision and coverage on health and dental dropped some of the coverage that I had.
So I never understood why it was called Affordable Healthcare Act. How or who was it more affordable for? Not a single person I knew benefited from this change, a few stayed about the same but most everyone I know lost coverage and paid more.
When they say they have a new plan I just wonder how and I going to get screwed over this time. Sorry but I find it hard that their new low cost plan is actually going to lower my costs.

I couldn't afford the affordable coverage and now I am finally covered but the insurance is very strict on what it will cover and requires a month between medical procedures which is costing me a lot in health. Many medications are not covered at all and since I flat can not afford them I don't have them. Maybe in the long run that's a good thing because the meds I am able to get are questionable at best as to whether or not they are even safe or necessary. But if I don't take the meds the doctors will drop me.
So yeah this is all kinds of screwed up but I wouldn't be so naive as to blame any one President, current or otherwise. The democrats probably lost their minds a long time ago, just wished I had noticed sooner.
