22 Lessons and this morning!

Good Morning Everyone! It was an early morning for me. I went to the store earlier this morning than usual because we have the HVAC people here. They are fixing the problem that they found the last time they were here. Goodbye Money Over $1000 to have the pleasure of their company for the interim. I also thought I might update everyone on the progress I've made with duolingo and spanish. 22 lessons so far, not counting the stories. I think I'm doing okay with learning, but I want to go back through some of them before I keep going. I haven't been using any other site, but I have been listening to some of my favorite Latin singers and bands. What's everyone else up to today?

@LindaOHio Oh I am sure that's a huge relief. I hate paperwork!

@ScribbledAdNauseum She did all the cleaning, some dishes and then helped me file a huge pile of papers.

I am printing a form I must fill out and send. It is something I cannot do digitally. That means going out in the 5 degrees here to mail it on the bus...maybe later

Yikes! I'm sorry you have to go out in that frigid mess. Are you going to get it sent certified?

@ScribbledAdNauseum Oh yes it will have to be. It is so ridiculous..I could send it digitally but they want my signature. All of it so unnecessary. They like to create more hardship for others.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I don't set a numbers goal, just so long as I read more than the year before. Back when I was commuting by urban bus to work I read 55 books in one year. I'm lucky to read 10 nowadays. But I know I have already exceeded that. I'd like to read more than 1 per month average.

How many are you trying to read for your book - year?

Adios dinero - but at least the problem will be fixed. Good for you with the Spanish lessons - muy bien! I had said that I wanted to get into more languages - but I have not even touched that yet. Today will be a shopping day (after your post here) and tonight we go to a college meeting for my 9th grader. Hasta luego!

@ScribbledAdNauseum Here, Spanish is just everywhere - so yah, it's literally an everyday sight and sound - so I guess that's why it sticks. It was a meeting about the requirements for college admissions - what high schoolers needed to do to plan their classes for it. I already knew this stuff, but it was to make my kid more aware (for her own future!). Surprisingly there weren't a lot of people there.

@much2say Oh I see, that is neat. Back when I was in school, we didn't have that. We had a counselor who handed us a packet of material and told us we could talk to them if we had any questions, but we didn't have any class that helped us learn about what the requirements were.

Hasta Luego! I think Spanish is the only language that I've ever actually kept at it. The others I get bored, but with Spanish I can actually practice with people in my life, so that helps me keep motivated. A college meeting already? Just to decide which college to attend?

You are doing great on your lessons! I've got to do that. I might do Spanish even though I took it in school. I think it would be fun to refresh my memory. Sorry for asking but what was that site again?

I use duolingo the most, but there's a spanishdict.com Then there's the Spanishpod101.com, I haven't used that one yet.

I have no idea what HVAC stands for, but I've been reading so much about the China flu that I'm now imagining men in hazmat suits making your house safe.

Well, personally I didn't need to shell it out which I am glad of. However, a family member did.

@Courtlynn Yeah, it really is. Glad we got it dealt with though. We need to deal with some trees next, and then the roof.

@thelme55 I am glad to hear that. Today we've had severe weather. IT was so bad that when the mail ran, we had to get in the car just to go to the mail box.

It is also just one part, a part that I don't think was very big. It was something to fix the fan within the furnace.
