Day 186 Promise 244 Psalm 107:17 Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted. 18 Their soul abhors all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death. 19 Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saves them out of their distresses. 20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. 21 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! 22 And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing. Do you know foolish people? They do things their way without a thought for another person. Have you considered you are foolish? Has anyone called you foolish? David and Solomon showed who foolish people were. Psalm 14:1 (To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.) The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that does good. (KJV) Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. (KJV) As Christians, you were foolish before you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord. You did things your own way, and when they didn’t work out, you tried other ways, until you gave up and looked to God for answers. The psalmist said people in sin did everything without thought until their trouble overtook them. Then they cried out to God and God heard them and delivered them. Not only did God deliver them, but He also healed them. When you put your faith and trust in God, God will also deliver and heal you. Let’s pray: Father, I know Your way is the best way. Help me walk in Your way and not in the foolish pride of my own understanding. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 8 February 2020 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay.
