The Chairs were rock hard

The chairs were so uncomfortable, and the desks were too short. I don't know why the coordinators thought that these furnishings would work for adults, when it hardly worked for school aged children.
I was in the third row about four seats back. There were three men in front of me, each fidgeting as much as I was. The two behind me were silent, so silent that I jumped the first time one of them spoke.
We were all in training for a new job. We had work packets in front of us and a woman in a grey skirt and blouse was instructing us through the material. We each had name badges. The guy in front of me was named Aaron, and when he wasn't fidgeting in his seat he was finding other ways to annoy me. I seriously hoped I wouldn't be working with him.
The two behind me were named Harold and George and they both looked a lot like guys I'd gone to school with. They acted as thick as thieves too, which made me wonder if they were my old schoolmates.
I just wanted this first orientation class to be done with. I seriously didn't expect such a small outfit like this would have so much orientation material.

Part of a dream I had.
No, this doesn't foretell me getting a new job.

@amitkokiladitya I like to draw people in to a story, and then reveal at the end that it wasn't real. It has made some people here mad at me.

The orientation process should be at its best to lure applicants to get the job.

Well, this was just a dream... However, I have been in orientation processes where the seating was not very comfortable at all.

Your dreams are quite vivid and you remember in such detail! I have experienced this through a weekly parent class at my kid's middle school. We were in the drama room - I hated the dinky chairs with attached mini desks - and being way too close to the next person for my taste. Some of the other parents were questionable too

My local DMV still has those chairs that you'd see in kindergarten classes. They are big enough for adults but not kind to the posterior! Come to think of it, the social security office has chairs like it, but their chairs are attached via a metal rod. I don't like those types of chairs either, like you, I don't like sitting so close to people.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Often those office visits are not exactly pleasant as it is ... could they make it any more unpleasant by having everyone wait on those terrible chairs? Sometimes it's a long wait too - yah, a torturous sit

@much2say Yes, Oh and how I hate it! They make you wait for over an hour for something that will take five minutes!

Oh, I hate them too! I also hate having to wait a long time while sitting on hard chairs.

When I have dreams like this I always just assume it's somebody else's reality that I've stepped into briefly.

I tend to think that it's my own, but depending on my surroundings, sometimes I wonder if it wasn't a past life.

My work dreams are usually stressful dreams. Are yours?

@LindaOHio Mine seem to be much the same. A lot of times, however, I'll be trying to get hired on (usually at a job I've had before) and am nervous and angry about the process.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Most times. I'll have a project to do; and some problem always comes up to not allow me to finish it. Like not being able to type that page.
