Day 190 Promise 248 Psalm 112:1 Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who delights greatly in his commandments. 2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. 3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endures forever. 4 Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. What makes a man mighty? What causes wealth and riches? Many people believe they are in charge of what happens in their lives. They base every decision they make on logic and calculations. The psalmist showed it isn’t what people do that makes a man mighty or wealthy. It isn’t the luck of the draw. It is God who brings wealth and riches. It is God who blesses His people. Deuteronomy 8:17 And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth. 18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he who gives thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore unto thy fathers, as it is this day. As Christians, you might wonder where your wealth is and why you’ve been left out of God’s blessings when you look at the size of your bank balance and wonder how you will make it from day to day. James 4:2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. 3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. 4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. (KJV) God promised His people wealth, riches, honor, and blessings. Yet, you don’t have. It’s been a long time since you saw God’s blessing in your life. This world is all about compromise. It’s Satan’s favorite tool. Compromise keeps you from God’s blessings and promises. If you want something bad enough, you’ll do whatever it takes to receive it. Yet you don’t enforce your faith to receive God’s blessings and promises. You envy those who received God’s blessings without doing anything for them. You compromise. You play let’s make a deal. God doesn’t make deals with His children and God doesn’t compromise. If you want God’s blessings and see God’s promises fulfilled in your life, stop compromising. Stop playing with the devil and stand on God’s promises. Only then will you see God’s promises fulfilled in your life. Let’s pray: Father, increase my faith. I don’t want to compromise with the world and lose the benefits and promises You give freely to those who trust You. Help me say ‘no’ to compromise and stand on Your Word. In Jesus’ name, I pray.
