It's hump day and the middle of the week. We are now on the downstroke to the weekend!
My hubby is very excited about this fact since Friday is his last day to work and then he will be officially retired. Word has gotten out and he is getting all kinds of offers. Yesterday he got a good one that he will actually be considering. It will be with the State but not an official permanent job, which he will be able to accept. He has to wait two years for full time permanent but he doesn't want that and neither do I.
We are waiting for the clouds to move in carrying the thunderstorms in the forecast for today. It is very cloudy with the sun trying to peek through, but not successful. I'll be hanging out at the house today and myLotting.
What are your plans for today? Do you have nice weather?

The countdown is on. I know he's looking forward to that last day.
I hope it doesn't rain.
I'm here myLotting for a little while yet and then I'm going to my recliner and put my feet up and rest my knees. That's the plan anyway. We have lots of brilliant sunshine. Belay that. The clouds are here. We're getting snow later tonight and tomorrow.

Um... today is Tuesday, right? Hump day is Wednesday. LOL!
It can be culture shock when retiring and going from working full-time to not working at all. Both spouses are affected. Hopefully he can keep himself busy, not necessarily working but volunteering or taking up a hobby are other options.
Good luck to you both.

Working for the State has many perks. He really might want to take it! Otherwise, I wish him well in his retirement. What type of work does he do? We are getting a big winter storm later today. No plans here. Just hibernating.

@kareng That sounds like a good job. Working for any government usually has some good retirement perks. He is lucky!

I actually went out without a coat to get the blue boxes. I wouldn't venture far without it, but I'm thinking another walk around the block after lunch.

The point of retirement is to NOT work anymore after that! Tell hubby he needs to look up the definition. No more work! haha
