Day 194 Promise 252 Psalm 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper who love thee. 7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. 8 For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee. 9 Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good. Throughout history, God has protected, fought for, and blessed His people, even when they were disobedient to Him. He promised to come against anyone who came against His people. When God sent His people to Egypt for protection and provision against the severe famine. Egypt put them under bondage and made them slaves. God brought His people out with many signs and wonders, breaking the power of Egypt when He brought them out of Egypt and to the Promised Land. When God sent His people into exile because of disobedience, He brought trouble on those countries who brought harm to His people and showed them His mighty power, as He did with the three men in the fiery furnace, and Daniel in the lion’s den when He shut the mouth of the lions and brought the men out of the furnace without the smell of smoke on them. He brought favor to His people during the reign of Artaxerxes when Haman wanted to destroy His people. What is your position when it comes to Israel? Do you bless her or come against her? Hitler intended to wipe them off the face of the earth, yet even then, God protected His people. They prosper today, despite the millions who died in the concentration camps. It is better to be a friend to Israel and pray for her than to be an enemy. As Christians, God’s promise to prosper you when you pray for Israel is yours. Let your life be one of peace and prosperity because you pray for God’s people and their prosperity. Let’s pray: Father, I pray for Israel and the continued fighting going on in that country. Protect her from her enemies, and bring peace to her borders. Protect Your people, and show them Your lovingkindness and mercy. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. This is an interesting discussion and shows us how little things change in our world throughout the years.
