So my day yesterday.... Part 1

I really wanted to tell you about my day at the childcare course yesterday but I was too tired so doing it now. I will probably do this in 2 parts. See how I go.
Yesterday was my 4th day of my childcare course and it has been the best day so far. I think because the class is starting to get used to each other. We have quite a long way to go but we are all starting to open up a bit more and communicate with each other.
So yesterday when I woke up which was around almost 6am. ( I have a long way to travel ). I woke up feeling anxious and trying to think of ways to get out of going. But I managed to catch a bus, a train, another train ( even on the second train I was still considering going back home which I have done in the past during another course I did ) but around 8:20am, I made it into class. I was happy that I did it.
I beat anxiety yesterday so HA!
But I do know anxiety will come again. Maybe even throughout the whole course. I have trouble sleeping the night before and feels like I'm walking through mud getting there ( best way I can describe that ). But once I'm sitting in class for a little bit, I'm quite ok.
Anyway I was happy with myself because I'm quite a shy person but managed to speak more to the girl I'm sitting next to and spoke to other girls at lunch time. There are 3 or 4 males in the class but I've only communicated a little with 1 of them. I made the girls laugh a bit which made me feel good! I know it's probably not a big deal to some, but for me personally, I was happy to have spoken up more.
A lot happened yesterday. A lot of jokes, laughing, serious discussions and sadly some morbid discussions relating to some childcare centres who were not looking after the babies and / or children correctly. It is very sad what can happen in those places when you have the wrong people looking after children. But listening to these stories that the teacher was telling, it brought to light even more of how passionate she is about this industry. She is so awesome. She seems to be a miracle worker with children I swear! Might talk about that another time though.
But yesterday, the teacher brought in two baby dolls so we could each have one go at simulating changing a baby's nappy. I will do another post to tell the rest as I don't want to make this long.

@LadyDuck aw thank you so very much! I do hope there will be more fun days like this. It was extremely stressful on the Tuesday though. I swear, the girl next to me was almost having a breakdown. The whole class was struggling with something including myself.

It's so exciting to see you opening up with your classmates and being much more social. And for also beating your anxiety! I'm so proud of you for not giving up and going home when your anxiety was kicking in. You deserve a beautiful kiss for doing so well!

I hope you continue to enjoy the class. And I'm glad you have anxiety under control. From your profile photo, one would not know that you are "shy." In my college classes, I encourage a lot of interaction. I think it makes class more fun and enhances learning.

@TheHorse Thank you so much.
I'm still getting the bad thoughts like thinking I will skip class or when I'm more than half way there, I will think about going back home. It's still there but fighting it as much as I can.

That is great you are breaking out of your comfort zone! Is this a course where you get a degree like Early Childhood Education? I love working with kids and am sure you will too!

@JudyEv Thank you so much Judy! I was very pleased with myself. I know this will happen again but as long as I keep beating it, then it will be fine. This makes me smile thinking about it again.
