Planning a Road Trip Soon

Have been trying to plan a trip to visit my uncle in the nursing home for several weeks now. My cousin and her daughter will go with me. Between the weather and their schedules, it has been postponed twice.
The new date, for now, is set for March 3rd. Fingers crossed things will work out on that date.
I have talked to him several times since he has been at the nursing home. He has had a lot of adjusting to do but seems to be ok.
Each time we talk he seems a little better. Of course he still would like to be at home. But he is meeting friends. He gets out and eats his meals with others. He exercises and many other activities.
I have not told him we are coming. I am not sure about the date and I want to surprise him. With his short term memory loss, he would probably forget even if I did tell him.
If nothing changes I will see him in about ten days.

@CarolDM it's just a short drive then. My sister-in-law travels by bus for more than 10 hours going to her place.
