Another content site folds

I was looking for new article brokerage sites to write for when I thought to visit an old one where I've sold a few niche articles a few years back. I was surprised to see that it redirected to one of the biggest (if not the biggest) article brokerage sites in the online world. So it seems that Big Fish has eaten Small Fish. I'm not sure what to feel about the acquisition. I never got notice from the Small Fish site owner. It's one of the first content sites that catered to writers and website developers. And I'm grateful to have had the chance to sell my articles there and make a few dollars. Now, this Big Fish will be busy as ever. I've written for this site too and have passed all their strict grammar exams. But I don't like dealing with acerbic editors, so I stopped submitting articles there. * Please don't ask me to name the websites. I'd rather not mention them here in myLot. Thanks. :o)

I've got one left. I've sold articles there last year. I stopped posting there when I accepted a big editing project from an international research institute last October. But now I'm back and trying to flex my writing muscles again. Whew.

Websites are quick to change hands. There are sellers and there are buyers.

@almostoveryou I am actually looking for a site to submit articles but not a marketplace. Something similar to MyLot.

@Alexandoy there must be a few out there but so far only mylot has good feedback.

True. I've written for many content mills in the past. They come and go.

the latest i've heard of is hubpages taken over by maven. i've never been a hubber, yet it's the longest surviving article site i know of because even back then when i search for something, a hub page would be one of the 1st 10 results. maybe you can join article on-demand sites that other mylotters are members of like textbroker, iwriter, etc?

Hubpages can be lucrative for those who can afford to write long posts and patiently wait for money to trickle. I could not apply for a Textbroker account because they only accept writers from countries that speak native English. I think I made an iWriter account before but forgot about it bec I was already selling articles on 2 sites. Besides I don't want to take assignments w quick turnaround time as I'm also a busy mom and wife. Thanks for the tips! :)

You should name such sites so that others can be careful about them.

@almostoveryou It's not a question of legitimate or illegitimate. Any site admin team has no right to exploit by framing impractical rules.

No need to be wary as these sites are legit. It's just the acquisition that baffled me.

Too bad they go under but I guess it is just business

Yes, it's just business. Truly understandable.

It's okay if you don't mentioned the names. Writing sites keep on changing and some are gone already.
