We had a phone call this afternoon from our favourite adopted niece telling us that she had just been informed she has been accepted into her first choice university - the University of Dundee. She has worked hard for this opportunity, particularly over the past year, and she is super excited. Fortunately, the campus she will mainly be studying at isn't far from her home and she can stay at home whilst she attends university which means she won't have to go deeply into debt during her course. She will be starting university at next September's intake studying a three-year degree course in nursing and will probably be working for the National Health Service when she graduates. We are so proud of her!

Congratulations!! Great news for your niece and the whole family! I had a choice between Dundee and Sheffield for my master, I chose the second for personal reasons. Dundee is a great university, she will get the best qualifications for her nursing career .

It does have a good reputation and there is the nearby Ninewells Hospital, a large, modern teaching and research hospital, where some of her training will take place

When I say 'adopted' I don't mean she was really adopted. We have been friends with her family for many years and she is more like a daughter to us

@mrki444 Not at all. Plumbers and secretaries go to college. Doctors and scientists (and, in the UK, nurses) go to university. The Polytechnic of Zagreb is a college. The University of Zagreb is a university.
