Dad's Daffodils

When my mum and dad moved from the village they'd lived in for almost 50 years to go to a small market town with a smaller garden, Dad gave me a small tin bath that he'd rubbed down and painted and put plants in it during the summer. Dad passed away within a year of their moving but I always keep Dad's tin bath full of colour during spring and summer. The strange thing is that, whereas some plants don't seem to thrive in my garden or tubs, they always bloom well in Dad's tub. This picture is of daffodils I planted up several years ago and they never fail to bloom.. I like to think Dad's just letting me know he's looking down on me.

I can't imagine not having a garden with flowers in it. The plants attract so much wildlife.

These daffodils are very beautiful. Do you know they look differently than the daffodils here? Here the doffodil's petals are white rather than yellow. I like daffodils because they smell great.

We have a variety of colours over here but I think our native ones are basically a bright yellow. And I know what you mean about the smell ... really fresh and 'green' which make me think spring is on its way.

I'm sure that's the case. Daffodils are so bright, aren't they? Sunshine captured in a flower.
