Yesterday Cold & Sunny. Today ...

I was sitting watching TV this afternoon and suddenly thought "I fancy stewed plums tonight with my vegan double cream". So, before I went into the kitchen to start preparing and cooking I decided I'd take a quick trip to the little girls' room. As I started ascending the stairs the sun was shining.
As I was about to leave the 'wee room' (said in a Scottish accent!) I could hear something beating against the bathroom window. When I walked into the kitchen and looked out of the kitchen window I couldn't believe what had happened in the five minutes I'd been gone.
The above photo shows my little pink primrose which I showed you yesterday was now surrounded by snow. The bush is a lilac which is just sprouting and you may notice there are a couple of daffodils between the lilac and the primrose which haven't yet been brave enough to face the elements and bloom. The buds are there but they're keeping their heads well protected from the wind and cold weather.

That's exactly what I did! Nothing better than standing with a hot cuppa in your hand watching idiots trying to skid along the footpaths through the window.

They should be OK as they can cope with below zero temperatures. Don't think we'll get any heavy snow now that could crush them.

We do get snow in the winter normally but this year it just seems to be drenching rain and gale force winds. We weren't really expecting snow according to the Met Office website so I was amazed to find my garden covered when I'd been in the loo for about two minutes.
