Leap Day National Surf and Turf Day 1980 - Gordie Howe scored his 800th goal (NHL - National Hockey League). 2012 - Davy Jones passes away. He is an English singer, guitarist and actor, born in 1951. He is best known for being a member of the Monkees and starring in the TV show of the same name. Jones was a teen idol.
