Greed Still Rules the World

United States

So this morning I received an offer for a free book. It was about the power of positive thinking. That seems like a great topic and something that would be interesting to learn about and share. The disclaimer said I couldn't store the book. Did the author believe I was going to read the entire book in one sitting and never want to read it again? If the book is that bad I understand why it is free and you want no one to read it, paraphrase it or store it. I was very entertained by the five pages of rules and then I immediately deleted the book. This author is in no way going to share her thoughts with the world. It really cracked me up!

You couldn't quote it with credit or paraphrase anything. I don't think she believed what she had written.

As they say, you get what you pay for!

I guess that is true. I would never pay for anything from that author after reading her disclaimer - she doesn't even believe what she had written.

the way people are online anymore about wanting to charge you for everything, it wouldn't have surprised me a bit if someone did manage to get to the end let you store the book for a price.

Perhaps - I stopped reading on the 5th page of disclaimers and rules.

Sometimes free is not always good.

Yes, but the disclaimers made me laugh so that was helpful.
