Day 213 Promise 283 Proverbs 3:33 The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesses the habitation of the just. 34 Surely, he scorns the scorners: but he gives grace unto the lowly. 35 The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools. Opposites attract. Solomon contrasted God’s punishment of the wicked and unjust to the blessings of those who trust Him. People compare themselves to others, wanting to be like them in every way, especially with celebrities. They want the same hairstyle, wear their fashion labels, and mimic everything they say and do. For what purpose? As Christians, the only person you are to mimic is Christ Jesus. You are to put on the robes of righteousness and denounce the ways of the wicked you followed before you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord. John 13:15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. (KJV) 1 Peter 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: 23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not but committed himself to him who judges righteously: 24 Who his own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 25 For ye were as sheep going astray, but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls. Unless the person you follow also follows and mimics the Lord Jesus Christ, don’t follow that person. He or she will only lead you down the wrong path. Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. (KJV) Let’s pray: Father, help me be more like You. Draw me close to You so that I look like You and not like the world. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 6 March 2020 by Valerie Routhieaux

It seems people would like to follow Jesus but they're willing to be crucified.
