Have you heard about the super worm full moon on Monday, March 9th? Kind of an odd name for a full name. So I did some research. According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, here is where the name comes from. This full Moon traditionally goes by the name Worm Moon, which refers to the fact that earthworms and grubs tend to emerge from their winter dormancy at this time of year, marking a sure sign of spring. Now you know the rest of the story. I had no idea. Anyone else hear about this worm moon?

Never heard of it. I was thinking that I would see some line in the moon when I saw the title. So it will do no good to look up. Instead, I should look down.

@CarolDM If I can see it tomorrow night, I will take a few minutes to admire it. I hope it won't be cloudy.

“Supermoon” is the popular nickname given to a full Moon that coincides with perigee, which is the point in the Moon’s orbit of Earth where it’s closest to our planet. While at perigee, the full Moon appears a bit brighter and about 7% larger than a typical full Moon.

@caroldm I'm going to sit in my garden all night when this moon rises to check that the worms have all safely emerged from hibernation so that I can bring them up to date with that's been going on in the world since the lazy little blighters fell asleep and let us to face winter all alone.
