Bernie and I went to this 'shocking' play in 1968 at an off-Broadway theatre and knew it would be a hit. Now 52 years later it is seen as 'outdated' but I see these guys every day--young and old. I still have my two-disc, vinyl LP set! https://www.thewrap.com/mart-crowley-the-boys-in-the-band-playwright-dies-at-84/

I read of his passing. He was a very very close friend of Natalie Wood (her daughters called him Uncle Mart) and helped develop "Hart to Hart" for RJ. She encouraged him when he was preparing "The Boys in the Band."

I read about Crowley’s passing. That was made into a movie, wasn’t it?

Yes--an excellent one--had a rave revival on Broadway last season and will be on netflix this season
Following a successful limited engagement on Broadway last year, The Boys in the Band will bring the party to Netflix in 2020
