NO Cheek to Cheek NOW because of...

NCOV. A close friend of my mom came to visit this morning. They are so bubbly when talking about the 'beso-beso.' It's a Spanish word for kiss. In my country, most women love to greet one another. To spell out, it's a cheek to cheek gesture for them. Now, my mother and her friend make fun of it. Regardless, it's better to stop than having NCOV. How do you greet your lovers, colleagues, friends, relatives or family members? Do you do 'beso-beso'? Image Credit: media.cntraveler.com

In India we do greet by Namaste in traditional way. And that is safest for corona.

I had seen how it was done. If I'm in your country, I would do the same thing.

@Shavkat I saw people bowing down and greeting in Japan and Thailand. Even those ways don't involve any contact.

I saw someone doing el beso to someone just yesterday so there is not too much fear here of that.

In my country, we don't get used to such a close touch. Shaking hands will be already good enough for us. Usually I just wave my hands when I see others. I prefer to this way.

@Shavkat Nodding head is OK, but I still think waving hands is much more common here. Shaking hands is usually for business or something like that. It is much more formal.

How about bowing one's head? When I was there, I noticed that shaking hands are a common way to greet each other.

I greased my friends with right cheek-left cheek-right cheek, this is the way here 3 and not 2. Now we do not even shake hands.

The culture is greatly affected because of NCOV. On TV, they just asked the locals not to handshake, wash hands, dispose of the facial after usage, and the like. For contact gestures, they were included.

We shake hands here in Germany but now we just nod. When we will visit our relatives in Holland, we do the dutch greetings of right cheek- left check- right cheek kissing. Now I wonder if we will be doing that when we visit them this month.

I experienced this kissing gesture with my colleagues who are from Holland. At first, I find it awkward.

For me, I usually do handshaking. The kissing of cheeks can be done by the family. But it's not with the male members.
