Warts and All

I have a few warts. Some of them are very tiny and only itch once in awhile. But about a year or so ago I developed a big wart on my thumb. Eventually I developed another one on the finger next to it. I decided to look home remedies up online. One of the remedies consisted of mixing 5 drops of Tea Tree Oil with a tablespoon of oil (I think Olive Oil, maybe vegetable oil). Dab it on the wart, put a band-aid on for an hour, repeat 2 more times. Do this for 3 weeks. But then on a medical website I saw that none of the home remedies work, that you have to use those freezing kits you get at the pharmacy. So, I did the home remedy one night only. A couple of weeks later and both warts are gone. What the heck? I only did the treatment for one night. I am now working on one of my smaller warts. Just goes to show... you never know until you try. And medical sites are trying to make you spend more money by going out and buy the store remedies.

The freeze kits are great as it shocks the warts and kills them. They are like alien beings living on your skin. Whatever works for you is great as they sure ain't beauty spots.

I look at my finger and I can't remember where the wart actually was. That is how much is totally disappeared.

For some people it works and some people it doesn't! Every person's body is different. It is good that it worked for you though, those kits can get pricey!

I bought a kit on sale but never used it. But the oils can be expensive but you don't use the whole bottle and they are useful for other conditions as well. I had a purple toe nail and soaked my foot in water with tea tree oil and it slowly disappeared that way. Wart kits can only be used for one thing - warts.

Good for you and I am glad you were able to get rid of some of the warts. I usually prefer home remedies.

The freezings are just too painful. My husband tried on the one on my thumb and I couldn't let him hold it for the required 10 seconds. Tea tree oil is painless.

Exactly! A friend was here today and got ant bit, I chewed some plantain and he put the leaf over it like I said, it stopped hurting.

I hope it gets rid of the one on my leg. I accidentally shaved it off once but it grew back. Might be a different kind of wart. I think there are tons of different species of warts that respond to different treatments.
