What floats your boat?

When I was a child, I saw the old movie "Houseboat" with Sophia Loren (my parents only let us watch clean, old movies), and decided I wanted to live on a big houseboat.
Now that I'm older I'm not that impressed with that kind of living. Did anyone else want to live on a houseboat? Is there a way of life you thought you'd follow, but you changed your mind once you got older and/or wiser?

Living on a houseboat never appealed to me.
I thought I’d like to live in a cute doll-like house with a white picket fence. After growing up in a new large, contemporary house, designed by my father, I decided I like a large home that was more traditional.
My condo in Florida is my dollhouse. lol

I never wanted to live on a houseboat but I always imagined a really new house with all the modern conveniences with lots of bedrooms and bathrooms...and I had a housekeeper to clean it! Stay safe and healthy!

I could handle a houseboat, but maybe not a permanent basis. It would be fun to do for a few weeks in the summer perhaps.
