They Have CORRUPTED Me!

Normally I am a cook from home kind of a guy. It's CHEAPER. Normally I am a "if I am going to eat out" kind of a guy, I get Lee's fried chicken or our local Chinese restaurant. MAYBE on occasion I might order out for a pizza from Dominos. Or Pizza World. Pizza world has a Appondaza which has 12 toppings. That is a VERY GOOD pizza. But, tonight? What's for dinner? A Stouffer's Lasagna I paid $18 for at Schnuck's. It's 5 pounds of food, so $3.60 per pound is not awful. But it IS outside of my wheelhouse a bit. The markets have been HORRIBLE. I have lost untold tens of thousands of dollars. Granted. All on PAPER. But still. So quickly gone is OUR money. My wife and I's that we worked so hard for. So, they have corrupted me. I don't care. I am going to do what I want, have what I want, buy what I want, cook what I want... And that's that. Screw it is what I say. We work too hard for our money, and even though the money we lost on paper will DEFINITELY come back... Here I am sitting here trying to save every penny to have a good life and the markets just wipe out tens of thousands in one fell swoop? I am spending what I want. It's not like I spent tens of thousands of dollars on this damn lasagna!

Sorry about the crash and loss of money. I pick up Stouffer's lasagna sometimes for a quick fix. Last time I found it saltier than I remembered though.

I usually make homemade lasagna, but the last time we bought Stouffer's also. Jay had a buy 1/get1 free coupon that he wanted to use. The lasagna was delicious! This was two large meals, for $16. Plus we had plenty leftover, it's just me and my husband eating.

99.9% of the time we make lasagna homemade as well. In fact, if I make homemade it is usually a spinach lasagna version that I make. Actually made one a couple of weeks ago.

@kobesbuddy I wonder if you do yours similar to mine? I substitute the mozz for provolone. I use ricotta cheese instead of cottage cheese. And if course I use spinach instead of meat.

Well, technically it is only a loss on paper, I sold nothing so really I have lost nothing. Still makes your eyes bug out in the short term. But I will get it all back and then some eventually.

@simone10 It always does, and it will. Recovering a bit now as we speak actually. On top of that, it is an amazing time to buy more shares. Any time the market has significant drops there is a ton of money to be made on the back end.

It's a very good lasagna. We buy it; and I've heard others here say that it's good too. The stock markets have been horrible and so have the food markets. Shelves are empty and 3rd party sellers are gouging the public. I feel like there's a zombie apocalypse. Stay safe and healthy!

Zombie apocalypse is right. lol. In fact, the other day I saw a funny meme that read, "And THIS is why the government won't tell us about the aliens." The lasagna was very good.

@LindaOHio I mean, not to scare you, but the aliens have special lasers to cut through your doors and the zombies will just break the doors down... It was nice knowing you.

You can never have too many toppings on a pizza. In fact, for me, three or four toppings I don't even consider IS a pizza.

As long as you don't sell now, you are okay, it will rebound.

Funny. I just scored some of what's in your picture the other day at Safeway and LOVED it. I bought some more yesterday. I have pretty muh taken on your attitude. So I'm way poorer than I was before, but I'm still gonna be OK. I'll eat what I want.

lol. It's been a funny trend for me, being that I am so gosh darn frugal and cheap, that I have been watching prices much less than usual. I am not sure if that trend will continue after things get back to normal, but I have to admit I am stockpiling so much money right now that eventually I guess it is going to have go SOMEWHERE.

I'm confident the markets will revive, eventually. Given the way things go the DOW might be back at 29,000 within a year or two. Is the lasagna good? How do you divide it up into proportions? I literally use a SAW to cut up my frozen stuff when I'm dining alone.

I happen to agree with you about the DOW. Despite the fast dive down and the clear economic impact in the short term caused by Coronavirus, I DO also think that people will return to normal, and so will business. The lasagna was delicious. I needed no saw. Once you cook it, it is no longer frozen.

A long time ago they invented a couple of things. Let me see. Umm, wait a sec here. Trying to remember what they are called. Oh yeah, one was a refrigerator and the other was a microwave. I have both. They are really neato things. You should look into getting these.
