My gut feeling

My gut feeling is that the school will be closed down after this week is over. The superintendents throughout the state are meeting and reviewing information.
This week while our schools have Spring Break our custodial staff is doing deep cleaning of all the buildings.
I have said before that we own a fogger machine of some kind for sanitizing the buses. Dina, my bus driver, uses it regularly. She is responsible for cleaning the school vehicles.
We have an e mail from our principal and he says they will let us know more Wednesday afternoon.
I have plenty of things to keep me busy here at home, even after my company leaves.
Yes, my daughter and her kiddos are still coming. They had to be out of their house for a few days, and this is easier than some of her other choices would have been.
They never eat at restaurants when they travel. They stop at outdoor parks, etc. for breaks. They are home schooled. I do not believe they would be carrying the virus.
My son-in-law's primary job should not be affected by shut downs. He is a parts counter person for a large automotive chain. His second job however is Youth Pastor. I do not know if their churches in the Minneapolis area are shutting down, ours here are.
My daughter-in-law here in Kansas is a manager for a hotel chain, and she said they might close for a while. She does some of her work from home, though.
My son works in the manufacture and shipping of farm equipment. Farms are not closing down, so his job should be fine.
So my gut feeling is that there will be many places that are shut down. Many families will spend more time together. Some parts of our economy will suffer.
If they cancel or go online only for school I do not know if we will then make up the days this summer, or not.
At least now I know when we MIGHT have some answers.
Feel free to share any light you have on this or any gut feelings as well.

Most of them are not social people anyway, so distancing is easy.

We may all become home schooled. That just means I will need another job. My work does not translate to home based.

I don’t think that our schools will be opening back up this year.

I think you have a pretty good gut feeling.
As for schools it's anyone's guess how long they will be closed or what impact it will have on teachers, students and learning.

The type of students I work with will not be benefited by online classes. I know that for sure.

I see the end of this virus, China released over 30,000 people from the hospitals that were sick with it. I think it will be treated as the flu is, soon.

I read some scientific reports about why this virus hits people so hard and it is scary to me. I am not scared on my own behalf but for the vulnerable and weak. It is good to hear that people, even seriously ill people, are recovering, though.

I hope so as well. It was our governor that did this, and I am sure that if things clear up there will be a re opening.

So far on a state level we are just officially shut down for this week, which was scheduled off for us anyway.

I do plan on enjoying time with the family. Luckily they are the type that play board games and just visit well.

It is all up in the air. I think we will develop new methods and standards from this.

I am wondering if a lot of this will cause people to have mental illness in the future. What with worrying about catching the virus and not be able to carry on as normal.

It may well do so. People will have post traumatic stress disorder and anxiety based illness from the worry.
