Covid-19 Restrictions Even For Me

It is happening everywhere. Restrictions at people's place of work due to Coronavirus. And my job is no exception. In the past week or so we have been told of a variety of policy changes due to Coronavirus that are being implemented. We have been barred from any travel, including short, local day trips. So, my Kansas City/Wichita and Wisconsin trips are out for at least a month. Maybe more. In addition, it was announced that two of the four salespeople in the office would be working remotely. I am one of the ones who will remain in the office. We ALL agree that it is still a bit of an overreaction. At the same time we DO understand that ANY measures are better than NO measures. So, as a company and as a workforce we are doing our part to help to contribute to the end of this thing. Onward and upward.

@Hannihar Looks like we are being told we may have treatments by early summer. Vaccines probably won't show up until around the end of the year.

Well, there are no cures for viruses. But at least we can find treatments and come up with vaccines.

I guess being on the side of taking severe precautions, in this case, is better than being complacent. With examples like Iran and Italy, it is for the best to be diligent with this pandemic...

I DO agree with being precautionary. Anything we can do as a people to ease the spread of this thing, at least, is a good idea. It's the extremism that I am not necessarily onboard with here.

@dgobucks226 I am now on the H1N1 historical bandwagon. lol. MUCH worse in terms of ALL numbers. Why did we not react the same way to IT? Something else going on here. SOMETHING else. Hmm. Just keeping a close eye.

Yes, things have changed suddenly and we all need to cooperate and do our part.

I am willing to do that so long as it not along the lines of madness. I don't want any part of that.

@porwest Yes, let's avoid the madness. It won't solve the problem.

@kanuck1 Never does. Cooler heads must prevail in order to get through this situation practically and with common sense.

We considered that here, but for whatever reason the plan we decided on was to do it this way.

All we can do is be cautious, but do our best not to be overly cautious, and certainly not to panic.

@porwest I'd like things to go back to normal too.

In one sense it might be kind of nice not to have to do it. On the other hand, I'd rather just be having things be normal.

Yes this is also happening at my place. Travel restrictions is being imposed and is asking everyone to stay indoors for a period of time. This has been done because they say the virus depends on people’s mobility to be able to spread itself. If the virus is not able to transfer to a new host then they will not survive for long.

I read some quote somewhere that it is better that we overreact now rather than find out down the line that we under reacted. There are those who don't think this is any big deal too (do any of us really know?) and those who are panicking big time - so perhaps it is better to have these extreme measures in place (for now) so we are all on the same page about what to do.

We are simply asked to restrict our travel at this time. Luckily I don't work outside the home but if I did I would have loved the opportunity to work from home. Unfortunately not everyone has that opportunity.

China released over 30,000 people from the hospital, they are over the virus, but they are still to stay home.

We all need to take part to finally stop the spread of the virus. Our office also allowed us to work from home until further notice.
