1630 - The Massachusetts Bay Colony outlaws the possession of cards, dice and gaming tables.
1960 - The first patent for the laser is received.
1931 - William Shatner was born. He is a Canadian-American actor, author, producer, director, screenwriter and singer. He is best remembered for his role as Captain James T. Kirk on Star Trek (1966-1969). After being typecast as Kirk, Shatner had great difficulty getting jobs, lost his home and lived in a truck-bed camper until small roles led to higher-paying gigs.
1976 - Reese Witherspoon was born. She is an American actress, producer and entrepreneur. As of 2019 she is one of the highest-paid actresses in the world. She gained fame as Tracy Flick in Election (1999) and Elle Woods in Legally Blonde (2001) and its 2003 sequel. Sweet Home Alabama (2002) and Walk the Line (2005) were her next hits. She won an Academy Award for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in Walk the Line. In 2019 she starred with Jennifer Aniston and Steve Carell in the Apple TV series The Morning Show and in 2020 in the Hulu miniseries Little Fires Everywhere.

I saw recently on the History Channel that Shatner is hosting a new show. He looks amazing for his age!

@LindaOHio Have you seen him on his new History Channel show? I forget the name of it, something about the exploring the unexplained or something like that. In no way, shape or form does he look 89 on the show.

See? That’s how the government should be telling people about things, instead of “mandatory shelter in place order.” “Hey, it’s ‘national goof off day,’ and we’re just extending that for a few weeks!”
Can’t believe Shatner is 89. He looks great (has a good toupee, too).
