How are you enjoying springtime? Are the flowers blooming in your area?
This coronavirus thing is very thought-provoking. There have been other pandemics with more cases and more deaths; and we barely remember them. ANY death is cause for concern; but the reaction to this pandemic is unprecedented. What do you think about all the media attention that's being given to this virus and the shutdown of businesses, schools, etc.?
Well, my husband has cabin fever; and he plans on going out again today to buy some things on his "short list". We don't have room for anymore food!...and I'm not really crazy about his going out among crowds of people.
Stay safe and healthy; and I will see you again on Monday!

@LindaOHio I just wish everyone would chill for a while and give the stores a chance to restock.

@simone10 Things are starting to ease up in the stores a little bit. The hoarders may be stocked up for the moment.

There are actually epidemics and pandemics that have happened every single year in recorded history. Cholera, malaria, HIV, and even ebola are common--however, not so common in the "developed" countries. Part of this is that we can't ignore an epidemic on our doorstep. Although influenza routinely kills thousands of people every year in this country, we are used to it, so not knowing exactly what it is going to do is also a problem.

@AliCanary I just found out today that COVID-19 can cause lung and heart damage. Not good.

I think this strain is highly infectious too. I worry about my husband who has asthma, allergies and a heart condition. He always gets respiratory illnesses.

Hubby went to the grocery store yesterday and got 300$ worth of stuff. About $110 of that was for black and red caviar. I was upset. We don't buy caviar often, especially black, but now is not the time to splurge like that. And he bought a lot of raw meat as if it will vanish in stores.

I guess it is officially spring. With all this stuff going on I didn't even realize it. But the temps here are also to blame. Weather jumps up and down all the time.

No flowers blooming yet, that I have noticed at least. Can't really enjoy the springtime yet.
That is so true, that there have been other things that have gone on that were awful, but we don't remember them! Eventually they went away and we moved on.....hopefully that will happen soon.

Springtime? It’s 41 degrees here!!!
Plus, there’s the dogwoods in bloom, which is making my throat run like Niagara Falls.
But yes, I’ll enjoy it when the weather is good enough to go outside.
