Are you having cabin fever yet?

We’re on our third week of quarantine. So far, we’re still okay being cooped in our house. The kids miss school, but they’re okay with their usual backyard and indoor activities. I have them help me with a few chores and I give them some math drills at least twice a week. I keep telling them that this vacation is likely to last for a few more months and that they’ll have to be creative and entertain themselves while we all stay home.
Meanwhile, I find myself longing for a trip to the mall or at least a trip to the bookstore. I miss browsing new titles, looking at stationery supplies and checking on pens and notebooks and stuff. I know this seems so petty in times like this, but I can’t help it. Bookstores have always been like a second home to me. Apart from this longing, I’m fine. I’ve got a garden to tend, dishes to cook, books to read, journals to fill, and a family to talk with and play with. We’re not strangers to each other. We converse a lot and can have long heart-to-heart talks. We eat together and pray together. My husband and I have a very good and stable relationship, and our two young girls rarely fight. Thank God for family and a home with a backyard.
How do you keep yourself afloat while on quarantine?

@almostoveryou Worse than in 2008, every day more than 60 people were infected with Corona.

Those would've been my activities had I been younger. How things over there in Indonesia?

It sounds like you have to situation under control. I understand about the bookstore. I wanted to get some more books but since we will only be able to go out so far starting today at 5 pm I will have to just dream about the books I want to get. Sounds like in this situation you have there what you need your family and things to do while stuck at home.

I've yet to check if the local bookstores can deliver books.. Although we still have a lot of unread books here at home.

Ah, book stores! Yes! I love the experience of going into a book store. I am not an extremely social person, but even just not being around ANYone for the last week or so has taken a toll on me. It's hard. I am just trying to keep in touch with friends and family by texting. Frequently.

Same here. I miss my Me Time too. Thankfully our house is relatively big for a family of four and we have a huge backyard and a front garden. Each of us can have some privacy somewhere within this home.

Sounds like you all are doing really well under the circumstances. Is that your little one on the couch? She's adorable.

So far, so good. Everything's in order where we live. We have ample supplies here. No, that's not my girl on the photo. It's a free image that I got on Pixabay. :)
How are things where you live?

@almostoveryou No. Police have closed the grocery shops also. They are coming out with some method to distribute essential items to the residents.

You miss the mall and the shopping, same here. My wife asked if we could at least to go the supermarket this afternoon after office hours (she is working from home). Obviously she just wanted to go out.

LOL. Women are like that. I'm actually a stay-at-home wife and mom. But I drive and go out a lot for errands. I drive my kids too. I guess I'm just looking for some sense of normalcy.

@almostoveryou you are right in what you may be missing. But it seems that the situation is now the normalcy.

@Alexandoy I still find it hard to embrace the new normal. But I'll get there.

@almostoveryou We are fine. People are following the rules because there is a fine for everything that is against the law during this pandemic.

Those simple pleasures will have to take a backseat for a while. How are things in Germany?

It's what most of us should be doing. I do my regular chores but I feel I haven't done much. I ought to declutter some areas here.

I heard that supplies will dwindle in the National Capital Region soon if checkpoints keep making it hard for delivery trucks to get through. We still have a lot of supplies here in Cavite so far.
