Many of us are stuck at home because of the coronavirus pandemic. Some people are taking advantage of this to try to make money with scam calls. I and other people have been deluged with fake calls lately, one after another. Today I got a call from the Dallas County Courthouse in Texas, USA. Something about items and charges. They just called again with a different message, Victim's Assistance Unit and I have to call the number to avoid legal action. I have no idea what they are talking about. It is funny that the Dallas Courthouse is in Seagoville, Texas. Have you been getting more scam calls than usual? What are they saying?

@akalinus No one is calling here, I have the feeling we are more protected against the spam calls here.

@LadyDuck We in the US get a lot of spam/scam calls and a lot of robocalls. The lawmakers keep saying they will do something about it but they don't. Many people here don't answer the phone anymore unless they know the caller.

Actually, I have gotten less, I don't know what they are saying because I don't answer the phone for them.

I never answer my landline anymore unless I know the caller. I have a message machine in case I miss something important. Most don't leave messages but this one did.

yes almost every day I was told to pay a debt that I did not know the person, I just scolded the person who called me but he continued to bother me.

I got a lot of that. For years, someone named Jonathan used my number and I got a lot of collection calls. I do not know who this Jonathan is. I'm not about to pay bills for a stranger.

It is usually when I am trying to sort out something on a computer page and have just reached a critical point that the phone rings with a scam call! I then have to get up and answer the phone, which is in a different room. Very annoying!

You really can't trust a stranger on the phone. If I don't get snail mail about some matter, I ignore it.
