What do you mean by "There's no place like home" during the COVID-19 pandemic?

My own house in Tanza that I have bought before because of my introvert mindset. If ever I would live alone, I would do it here

"There's no place like home", or should everybody thought. Almost everybody I know complains as there are some people who can't stand being at home. It's like being a prisoner on a house arrest. Probably on the most cases, some can't think of any good activities indoors that's why some people feel the need to stay out of the house because they are bored. So even if it is not important, they will just go out. They don't see themselves staying inside the four walls doing nothing. On the other hand, this is a bliss for those who are introverts and those who wants complete solitude all by themselves. In Japan, hikikomori (translates as "being confined" in Japanese) which is considered an "acute social withdrawal" of adults and it is extremely discouraged by some because these involves boring activities and it makes an individual withdraw from society. They seek extreme degrees of isolation and confinement. So in the most extreme cases, staying inside the room without going out takes more than a month. In my personal case, my cousin did it for 6 months and she survived. Also, there are severe cases that some stayed for 1-2 years inside: not going out; just having food deliveries, groceries via online and that's it. I am an introvert by nature and I normally talk with other co-workers and friends when needed. So being at home for a month with enough stock is okay for me. To give you an idea about an introvert mindset; it means; "Less talk, less mistakes". So it means less mistakes, less stress. And less stress means more happiness. It is the same deal with being alone in the house finding total quiet time. It is quite boring to most people but this is extremely helpful for introverts since they won't be judged why aren't they going out of their houses to socialize. Hey, it is quarantine anyway so why bother going outside, right? And for an introvert; "There's no place like home". Would you agree on this?

I'm use to being indoors. No problem for me but I do miss going to the gym.

I also have a friend who is gym enthusiast. Now he is practicing Zumba at home and doing lifts this quarantine season. Plus, with the help of online tutorials, it helped him staying fit. I cannot do that (exercising/ Zumba) even if I will be given all the time in the world. I just don't have the passion to dance and work out so I envy those gym-enthusiasts who has a great mindset in staying fit by doing exercises. how often do you go to the gym, Allen?

Exactly. Not everyone has the privileged to stay at home. How can you stay at home if you don't have a house to begin with. Are you happy at the moment staying at home?

maybe for some, it's because there's not enough space and/or they don't have much stuff. why did your cousin stay indoors for 6 months? and why is that tree trunk shaped like that?

I wasn't able to take care of this house for a long time as well as the plants around the area. It would take me 1 bus ride and another jeepney ride plus 1 tricycle ride so that's about 35-40Km from where I am in Manila right now. That house is in Tanza. My cousin stayed in their house for 6 months doing nothing but watching anime and her presence is just being felt online. She graduated from UP Iloilo and was staying in Manila for more than 10 years now. but the odd part there is after graduation, she didn't actively look for job first and stayed at home. Don't worry, she has work recently. Staying at home doing nothing was indeed a privileged for her. I only stayed indoors for 3 months doing nothing but playing PS2, writing fanfictions , remodeling my room every now and then, doing DIY crafts and alike during that time.

I'm use to it, it's my mom and grandma who's probably frustrated for not leaving the house for a long time.

The conception of the others sometimes is when you're just staying at home, you are considered as being lazy. Some elders say that we shouldn't lazy around the house doing nothing. Well, I think this is the best time to do that. We are now given an ample time to rest, recollect our thoughts for the better, do something creative then share it online. and the best part is we are not being scold why in the world are we staying indoors (or just by doing nothing), do you agree?

Same here. What do you normally do when you're at home aside from the usual household chores?
