Desserts to die for

In 2013, we joined a cruise on the Queen Mary 2. We dined like royalty which was pretty fitting. The menus changed nightly.
I'm sure you've all heard the term 'eat your sweets first', the idea being that you never know when your time is up so best to start with dessert! I subscribe to that and always read the dessert menu first. I am often unable to fit in a dessert after a big main course. It is even more impossible if we have entrée as well.
For instance, on the menu one night was a choice of: Ice Grand Marnier Parfait, Chocolate Croquant Royale, Vanilla Lemon Souffle with Limoncello Sauce, Low in sugar – Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Pistachio and Chocolate Ice-cream with Strawberry Frozen Yoghurt and Kiwi Sauce, Cheese Selection with Stilton, Gouda and Cheddar.
The cheese plate came with biscuits, dried apricots and grapes. One of the ladies at our table would choose the cheese platter but only eat the biscuits, grapes and apricots.
The waiters were happy to explain any fancy wording. The presentation of the various dishes always had us oohing and aahing. As you can imagine, mealtimes were a highlight of the trip. I don’t know the names of the desserts in the photo.

I have friends who have taken cruises but the ones they've told me about would not appeal to me because it was all about the glitz and glimmer, not my taste @JudyEv
Somehow a cruise on the Queen Mary II sounds a little more elegant and probably much more expensive.
Where did that cruise take you?

Mmm, looks scrumptious, but tiny servings. I like double the size of them.

@Jessicalynnt Same here. And you can hardly go to a restaurant and just order dessert. Maybe ordering two desserts would be okay. What do you think?

Who cares what the fancy names were for those desserts, as long as they tasted delicious, which I'm sure they did! And what great timing for your post....we're all stuck in quarantine in our homes and you are dangling the tantalizing desserts before our eyes!

@JudyEv Way to go Judy, teasing us with delicacies at the very moment when we can't enjoy those delicacies! Shame on you!

The desserts are the main attractions for me in any buffet

I will often check a dessert menu first in a restaurant to see if any are worth ordering, if it is run of the mill stuff, I don't usually bother but something that looks particularly delicious, or I haven't ahd before I will get. I think I would have gone for the Ice Grand Marnier parfait or the ice cream treat.

I do that too. I check out the desserts. If I want to have a dessert I might just have soup or a small entree first.

The 2nd dessert looks like a panna cotta. A sumptuous Italian delight.
Yes, on the cruises I have been on, it was a struggle to leave room for dessert, but I always forced myself. Often to the point of feeling uncomfortable for the rest of the night.

More than likely it was a panna cotta. They are one of my favourites. I like all the creamy, light desserts.

I imagine many calories were added to your daily intake with a menu like that
Yes, you could go out with a smile on your face eating those desserts

The presentation was superb. I hated poking my spoon in them.

Maybe I'll spark a rise in home cooking.
