What a pity! It is sad to see that millions of flowers were thrown in the Netherlands because of coronavirus. Because of this virus, there is a cut of demands for the import of flowers. The growers were destroying them. Seeing the video, I feel pity of the flowers. Maybe some could be given to the people. What a waste! What do you think? Are flower companies in your country destroying their plants because they could no longer import them? Here is the video to this waste of flowers. Thank you for reading. Have a nice new week.

How awful! I always loved flying over Holland to see the masses of tulips. Hubs usually buys me fresh flowers once a week, but since the virus came to town, he hasn’t been to the market. I’m not expecting any.

@thelme55 I’m not sure. Here, the farmers are struggling, too. It’s a big topic on the news. The virus is definitely destroying more than we bargained for.

I actually toured a tulip farm in Holland. You go into a vast warehouse where they are shipped out from.

Yes, it is awful @DianneN I was planning to visit Keukenhof Park next month but I couldn´t do it because it is close. I wonder if the thousands of planted tulips are still taken care of by the workers.

That was a very difficult clip to watch. There are so many crops and foods that will not be able to be taken to market as a result of this terrible virus.

@thelme55 Our farmers are considering if they will even bother to plant their seeds if they cannot bring in their migrant workers for the harvest.

It is indeed hurtful to watch @Juliaacv. I agree with you. German farmers are needing their Polish workers who will harvest their asparagus this season but the Polish people couldn´t come for the harvest. I think they have to find German people who can help with the harvest.

Some lose flowers some lose food. Owners of big amount of vegetables can't pick it up since workers can't go work.

That is true. Farmers are needing their workers to harvest the asparagus but they couldn´t come as they are mostly from Poland and other neighboring countries. Thanks, @mrki444

This is such a shame. I think I might have tried to give some away but I'm sure those in business are finding it hard to think clearly at this time.

I agree with you @JudyEv. Businesses will get bankrupt sooner than later because of this pandemic virus. Thank you.

I would think they could donate them to hospitals, nursing homes, etc.
