Making Positive Changes in my Life

I saw this picture-quote today and it really made me think!
Confession: I tend to be a procrastinator/avoider about difficult situations in my life. Sometimes, it's serious relationship issues or my own grief and emotional baggage that I must deal with.
Other times, it's much smaller things I put off- like doing certain chores that I dislike.
I find the quote to be true so often though. After I accomplish something that I've avoided too long, I usually think "That really wasn't so bad!" Plus I feel a weight off my shoulders. It's a win-win!
Who else will confess to struggling with avoidance as I do? Please share success stories too.

@BloggerDi I’m lucky I had a thought in my head.
Not many there these days.

My middle name begins with a P. The standing joke at home is that it stands for procrastinator. It has always been my motto to never do today what can be put off until tomorrow.
Having said that the one piece of advice I have always given to anyone facing a difficult situation is that it is never as bad in reality as it is in your head.
I need to follow my own advice!!!

I knew I couldn't be the only procrastinator on myLot.
Thanks for the advice. I think it's true in most cases!

I agree completely with us. Some of the household tasks I avoid actually take very little time. The other thing is that, if something is worrying you and you're able to 'voice' it - tell someone about it, suddenly it loses all its power and importance.

I do struggle with getting up early in the morning to clean out the garbage cans inside the home and having to get going on doing surveys on the internet.

@BloggerDi That is okay since it takes me a while to get in a work mode myself.

Thanks @Deepizzaguy. I can usually get out of bed early, but I am not very functional until about 10 a.m.!
Sad but true.

I've been trying to put off getting older, but as the years go by I find it increasingly more difficult.
