Trying out my new food processor

How is everyone doing? My hearts are going out to anyone affected by this virus. I luckily still have a job I get to go to with occasional overtime, although the overtime is drying up a bit. I have been trying to find some things to be excited about however, like buying a food processor. I went for the cheaper brand, Oster, instead of the Hamilton Beach just because it saved me a little bit and I wanted to see if this was a tool I would use frequently. I first used it last night, using the CHOP setting and it worked very well! I chopped up veggie burgers (made from chickpeas, cilantro, some flour) and that worked out well. The clean up was less complicated than I would have thought. Was all in all pleased! But now I am looking for more recipes that might require a food processor. Do you have one of these? And do you use it? What recipes have you used it for?

Very nice! What do you normally use it for? Or do you use it for just about everything?

I've never had a food processor. I wonder what attachments come with it? I make peanut butter with a juicer. I make pie pastry by hand and same with bread. Don't know if your gizmo has dough hooks?

Oh you do! That's so cool. I don't entirely get what the attachments are for, there's like a "slicer" and a bread kneader and then the chopper. I also have a juicer, but it's a whole-fruit juicer that I have made fresh juice with in the past. I do enjoy that!

@maezee Congrats on your food processor. Enjoy it. I do have a food processor but have not used it in ages. I also have a juicer and crockpot. I use my crockpot more. I also have a blender to use in summer to make milkshakes. I cannot remember what made in it.

Usually the clean up part of the appliances is the worst. But I'm glad it isn't much of a bother.

That's so very true! The whole-fruit juicer I have is the WORST because it stores the fibers and what not from the fruits. Extremely messy. So far the one time I have used the food processor it was a much quicker clean up.

Ah ok. It does seem to add a complication to things, extra work for sure.
