Finally We Have A Stay at Home Order

Our governor finally announced plans to sign Executive Order 23, which will require Tennesseans to stay home unless they are engaged in essential activities.
Many of us have wondered why he has waited so long. I know some are against it but I am against the COVID-19 virus. And I believe staying home is the only way to slow it down.
The order will remain in effect until April 14, 2020. Then the situation will be re-assessed.

@Courtlynn I agree but I can't dictate what the governors do.

I would have thought that the president's response would have caused all the governor's to promptly follow suit and lengthen it to the end of April.

@CarolDM Ouch! Maybe the number could have been lessened if the lockdown was implemented much earlier...

@MommyOfEli2013 There are still about 10 states who don't have one in place, just curfews. But it doesn't seem to make a huge difference, people are breaking the rules unfortunately.

@CarolDM He thinks it's going to peak sometime in May, it could have left it indeterminate..like at least until the end of May..right now it feels like there is no end in sight here..sigh.

@CarolDM they are doing it state by state because it’s so different with each person so they are trying to get her date and herd immunity

Georgia has the same order starting tomorrow for two weeks. I pray it doesn't go longer than that.

Mississippi has a shelter in place that starts at 5 pm today. I wish that it had been ordered sooner.

@CarolDM No thinking involved would be my guess. Guess yours and mine had the covers pulled over the heads during the last couple months.

We all need to stay at home - all the states - even if they say the virus is not currently a problem there (as there could be asymptomatic spreading, it's possible it already exists in those states anyway - they just don't "see" it yet). It's not something they can set a date on . . . the US has not even reached its peak yet . . . I am pretty certain this will go on much longer - my opinion.

We have ours until the end of April, which no one is exactly abiding by it. We still hear cars all the time.
