Finally We Have A Stay at Home Order

@CarolDM (203396)
Nashville, Tennessee
April 2, 2020 3:01pm CST
Our governor finally announced plans to sign Executive Order 23, which will require Tennesseans to stay home unless they are engaged in essential activities. Many of us have wondered why he has waited so long. I know some are against it but I am against the COVID-19 virus. And I believe staying home is the only way to slow it down. The order will remain in effect until April 14, 2020. Then the situation will be re-assessed.

@Courtlynn I agree but I can't dictate what the governors do.

I would have thought that the president's response would have caused all the governor's to promptly follow suit and lengthen it to the end of April.

@CarolDM Ouch! Maybe the number could have been lessened if the lockdown was implemented much earlier...

We have been in social isolation for a while. I agree that it is totally necessary at the moment.

@MommyOfEli2013 There are still about 10 states who don't have one in place, just curfews. But it doesn't seem to make a huge difference, people are breaking the rules unfortunately.

@CarolDM I am surprised that not every single state has that order in place already....ours started on the 25th....so we have been doing it for a while now.

@CarolDM they are doing it state by state because it’s so different with each person so they are trying to get her date and herd immunity

We all need to stay at home - all the states - even if they say the virus is not currently a problem there (as there could be asymptomatic spreading, it's possible it already exists in those states anyway - they just don't "see" it yet). It's not something they can set a date on . . . the US has not even reached its peak yet . . . I am pretty certain this will go on much longer - my opinion.
