Since we are having this COVID-19, there are so many changes that are happening now and in the future. One thing for sure, some Filipinos will not eat food with their bare hands. "Boodle fight" or eating with hands will not be carried out and finger foods will not be touched without utensils. "What are other practices that would change?" Image Credit: upload.wikimedia.org

I can understand this situation in other countries. It's not their culture to eat with bare hands.

@Shavkat There is very few things we eat using our bare hands, like the potato chips, because it is impossible to eat them with a fork.

Well, there will be many changes coming after this pandemic. Here in Germany, I think shaking hands will disappear.

I do agree with you. In my opinion, eye-to-eye contact will be lessened. It would be like 'touch me not' moments with other people.

@Shavkat Why will be the eye contact be lessened? I want eye contact so I will know if that person is lying or not.

Well, hygienes is ALWAYS a given. Going forward, I'll personally try to avoid over-crowded places even long after we've moved on.

Indeed, it is the basic thing to ponder. We also need to put into practice the 'social distancing' now and in the future.

We always do that in the office together with the managers and coworkers as a sign of unity. This is one of those stuffs we will miss long after the lock-down ends.

In every picnic activity, we can feel the excitement. It cannot be denied it's in our culture to eat with bare hands.

@Shavkat though it could be hard eating in boodle fight. Especially if the man next to you is twice your size.

That's a big question. If the COVID-19 is being stopped, then it would be possible. For now, we need to be hopeful.

I hadn't really thought about it, but a lot of people will probably be reconsidering things that maybe they never considered before.

I hope people will consider this concern now. We need to be cautious to prevent from having COVID-19. But still, I hope there will cure the soonest.

I can feel you with this concern. Even in my country, many people are whining about it now. That's the reason why I am looking for earning sites online lately.

It would not be a big deal if people who are acquainted with us will not feel differently like snobbish. But I am sure they will comprehend this situation.

Eating with your hands with your own plate might not be a problem as long as you wash your hands before and after. But boodle fight? I don't think we will be doing that for a while. I wonder though why are we not accustomed to using chopsticks like our neighboring countries?

Indeed, my friend. Hand washing is the best thing to do before eating every meal. I guess chopsticks will still be used and hopefully, they will sterilized them.

I hope they will consider not doing it. I must admit that most families in my country taught their kids to use hands in eating finger foods. My assumption will be stopped doing it because of this virus.

I wish the milkman from the past would come back and deliver fresh milk to my doorstep - again...

It's nice that you don't do it. If someone will do it, he or she needs to do handwashing first.

I don't think there's a problem if eating with bare hands, as long as the people do the handwashing or use hand sanitizers.
