I Am Really Fighting It

A few months ago, probably a bit more than six months ago, suddenly my charging port on my laptop went kaput. So I searched on Amazon for an external battery charger for my battery and found one. Cost me around $80 if I remember right.
Then I bought an extra battery. And then a third. They run about $35 a piece. So, we're up to $150 here.
My original battery is pretty much kaput. It still holds a small charge, but I only get about ten minutes out of it.
The THIRD battery of all things seems to have gone kaput as well. It says it is fully charged but when I try to use it, it is dead from the word go. Not sure WHAT is going on there.
So, I bought another one and it arrived today. Another $35, so now we're at $185.
My laptop is probably about 12-15 years old. I am REALLY fighting it. That is, buying a new laptop. I just don't want to. It's a pain to have to keep charging and changing out batteries. BUT, it still seems cheaper so far than a new laptop, and this one is set up EXACTLY the way I want it.
I might buy another battery in a week or two. And I am going to see if I can figure out what's wrong with the third battery that went kaput.
