A Knock on the Door / myLot

I was sitting and MyLotting when I heard a soft knock on the front door. I thought perhaps a package had been delivered. I got up and looked outside; and there was a female mallard standing in front of our porch stoop. She must have been tapping her beak on the front door looking for bugs...or maybe she wanted to let me know that she was there! lololol My husband came quickly and got to see her further down the sidewalk just before she took off flying. Several years ago there was a female duck that hung around our neighborhood. It had to have been someone's pet at one point in time. It would nap under our patio table. It would fly back to our yard if we called it. One time it walked through the house from the front door to the back door. It was so cool.

We had a pair of male mallards for a while. The guy we got them from clipped their wings. We let them grow out; and finally in the late spring they took off, circled our yard quacking and then flew away.
