National Dolphin Day International Moment of Laughter Day (We could all use this.) 1828 - Noah Webster copyrights the first edition of his dictionary. 1902 - James Cash Penney opens his first store in Kemmerer, Wyoming. 1939 - The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck is published. 1932 - Loretta Lynn was born. She is an American country music singer, songwriter and musician. During her 60-year career she has had multiple gold albums. Two of her songs: You Ain't Woman Enough (To Take My Man) and Coal Miner's Daughter. There was also a biographical movie that came out in 1980 titled Coal Miner's Daughter. She is the most awarded female country recording artist. Lynn has had 24 #1 hits and 11 #1 albums. She continues to perform at the age of 88. 1968 - Anthony Michael Hall was born. He is an American actor. You probably remember him in his role as Rusty Griswold in National Lampoon's Vacation. He also appeared in Sixteen Candles, Weird Science, The Breakfast Club, Out of Bounds and Johnny Be Good. From 2002-2007 he appeared on the TV series The Dead Zone; and in 2020, ABC's The Goldbergs.
