Both my 2nd and 3rd grade had there first google meet class yesterday. For there first class it was to teach them how to use there google meet. I didn’t sit in with my 3rd grader she seemed okay on her own. But pretty easy from her chrombook. 2nd grader we had to type in his meet code since the link wouldn’t pull up which ain’t a big deal. I showed him where things where so that for his next meeting he should be okay on his own after I get him in. The kids will have 2 a week and I signed waver so they can be recording Incase they miss it. Other wise if not they can do the live meet with there cams on. School rules. So I made sure to give them accesses and allow there school to do so. This way the school can also see if the teacher are not teaching something they shouldn’t be. This also means my daughter will start getting here one on one meetings with her special ed teacher for 15 minutes but not sure when what will be.

I hope that they will also just implement online classes here. My kids started homeschooling last year though. But other kids around are not getting their education to continue.

Ours is just because of the virus. They actually don’t for the test this is just to keep skills they have learned this year fresh or reinforced.

@ShyBear88 That's good so the kids can still learn even they have to stay at home.

@ShyBear88 Our school district is slowly rolling out chrome books to all the students. They've just been awarded several big grants that will help them with the purchases and setting up all the technology.

@moffittjc ours has been giving them out for the last 3 years. Our kids school was one of the first few and each they got more and more. Since ours is the smallest in the county it was easy to give one to each kid that is 3rd-5th. This year our middle schools got them to all the students. High schools not so much.

This is preparation. In Croatia, out minister of education just say we go with online class in Monday. News come in Friday. We didn't even have time prepare kids. Her idea is all kids now use tech.

My kids have been doing online classes since the end of March they also hadn’t been in school school since early March. They now got permission to do video classes. Which is mostly going to be just discussing what they have been doing that week or clearer up something.
