HA! I found another way anyway!

In less than an hour it will be midnight. Which also means it will be my dad's birthday! My brother and I had already bought his birthday presents today which my dad picked out. Was two different type of jackets that he can workout in. ( he has been using the exercise bike a lot lately ) Anyway I thought about sending him an eCard. And I really thought I could just find a site that could do them for free but one after the other was asking for money. I'm not saying my dad isn't worth the money! But they are asking for credit card info to which I do not have! And to be honest, even if I did have a credit card, I would feel uncomfortable using it on some random site. I eventually found a site that said you could have a free trial. I got excited and thought I will just use that free trial to send my dad the birthday card. But just as I finished picking out a card, writing a message and putting down the email information, it still asked for credit card information! But! I have kept the link open where you can preview the card so HA HA HA! I found a loop hole! *blows raspberries* I will just wait until 12am ( my dad is still awake ) and show him the eCard on my laptop along with the message I put on it. ****photo is a screenshot of the eCard. It's a choir singing Happy Birthday**** Also, in case you are wondering, I don't call my dad "dad" I call him "Fuzzball." Have done since I was roughly 12 years old.

@LadyDuck I will surely tell him if ever he comes back home. You know his ex who ruined my birthday? Not sure if you remember but he is with her. So besides very early this morning, haven't seen him since. And he didn't tell me he was there either so spent all day and half the night being worried about his whereabouts.

You can try creating a card design from Canva. They don't ask for credit card details and it's for free. I also use it for some pictures for some articles.

One must be carefully when dealing with credit cards and money dealing matters online. There are so many fake sites that can robe you off your money.

@Treborika That is very true. I am very glad that I didn't need to pay for this though. I don't trust sites I haven't heard of / used before.

That's how these sites work. Ask for credit card details in the hope you forget to cancel when your free trial is up and then they charge you. I used to use these sort of free trials until I forget to cancel one and it was a couple of months before I remembered. Fortunately it was only about £10 per month so only lost £20. I just don't take the chance anymore as I'm getting more forgetful in my old age.

@WorDazza I understand what you mean. I know it's a great technique for companies to make money even if the customer's intentions weren't to stay there long. I just remember years ago sending free cards to people. Well this was over 10 years ago because I remember my mum and I sending them to each other. I was hoping there were still sites doing it for free.

I'm surprised you didn't find a free greeting card site. Whenever I send online cards I use 123Greetings, Hallmark also has free cards. I've used both of those. I looked at both sites just now. Hallmark does have a fee, but it's for their channel, not the cards.

@just4him So am I. I used to use them when my mum was alive because we would send some to each other often. I do understand that sites need help financially to help keep their site running. Was just shocked I was struggling to find a site to send a card for free as it was easy years ago.

All free trials ask for card info. That way they can charge you when the trial is over - unless you cancel before it ends. That is a good way around it. Lol

Sounds like your Dad's health is much better. I know he was going through a lot a little while back? Yes, online sites only take credit or gift cards. Pinterest is a site where you can find free cards to print.

@DocAndersen I will just copy and paste what I said to @Writingghost so it's quicker. I call him Fuzzball because his hair is like a fuzzball lol Just a name I created when I was younger. And it stuck.

Why do you call him fuzzball? Anyway, here's my idea for next year: CRAYONS! I think all of us old farts fondly remember the days when our kids were little...my speciality is mountain scenes...what's yours?

@TheHorse I call him Fuzzball because his hair looks like a fuzzball lol I actually hated crayons as a child and I still do lol I think it's because it doesn't satisfy my OCD. It doesn't colour all the white paper ( or whatever colour ) completely. BUT if I was to draw something, most likely a night sky as I know I did that a lot as a child. I wish I could see your mountain scenes!
