Smiling Behind Masks ... Air Hugs

I've been listening to the news at noon. I saw where drones may be used and I think are being used ... to spy on people. They don't call it spying but, that's what I call it. I have read in the past that they can be flown to peer into windows of a home if needed to. I don't know how true that is. They say it's to see if people are complying with coronavirus distancing rules, so on. I worry about things we have read about in fiction that's is slowly becoming true. I don't think people will stand for it. They are already protesting. That worries me. There was a protest here in Raleigh, NC today ... they were very vocal, loud and I felt obnoxious. You know how you have your loudmouths in everything. I didn't like seeing protestors screaming, ranting, raving, cursing the nurses and medical people standing there. I thought to myself that one day soon that nurse, doctor might be treating that protestor as they lay dying with the virus. Not everyone was wearing masks, nor keeping their distance. I worry it's a matter of time. I shouldn't worry about people ... I do. Today we went to get groceries. We sat in the parking lot to eat our biscuits we got at McDonald's drive-thru. We people-watched as we ate. So many people didn't have masks on ... and I was alarmed at all the children who didn't have masks on either. Walmart does good ... everyone did keep their distance from each other. No one on top of the other. Instead of hugging people we used to hug ... now, it's air-hugs. We smile big behind our masks ... our eyes reflect it ... no one can see each other's mouth. Who would have thought we would be communicating behind masks ... talk, smile behind our masks ... give air-hugs one day?

We have not thought of talking to people with mask on when we enter the new year 2020. Keep safe GrannyGee

Thelma, who in the world would have thought? I wouldn't have believed if told we'd be wearing mask and be in a pandemic in 2020. I really felt this year was going to be very special and a good year.

@GrannyGee I am with you. I do think that we have a lot of good people than evil ones. We came to know how everyone could care for other people in times of crisis. Yes, it hurts especially because we canĀ“t prevent what is happening to them and to the animals.

It's hard to say "hi" to someone with the mask on since it's had to assume if they are really smiling.

@GrannyGee Yes it's very hot. But sure, you can do whatever inside that mask and they will never know.

I let my eyes communicate by smiling big. The masks are very hot ... I feel for all the medical people who keep them on for hours and hours. Well ... one funny thing about a mask is ... I can stick my tongue out at someone and they won't know it!

It`s really hard nowadays. There are people not minding what`s happening around them. That`s why others don`t keep distance or wear a mask

Yes, you are right. I would at least be afraid for children if I had them. I would take precautions when I went out to keep from them getting sick.

They are here also and neighbours do twit on each other sometimes. One poor man was only going to see his ailing Father as he was dying and they twitted on him and he got fined so he was pretty much down in fact very down. Stay safe and well.

Oh, how sad and so wrong. Shame on those people. I do not like tattle-tails. That is wrong. Not only does he grieve ... he has to pay a fine.

It really is. I'm surprised we understand as well as we do when we can't see the mouth move.

It's a very strange time we live in. I saw the news this morning about the drones. It is alarming.

@GrannyGee Can we just go back to 1950, please? Even though I wasn't around yet, it was a calmer time period and all this taking place now was science fiction.

@just4him You are right ... this is science fiction becoming reality.

It truly is alarming. Here, drones are being used to transport medicines to the big hospitals. I heard they will be delivering packages, fast food in the future. I've seen robots delivering such in some places. I don't know what to think ... in one way that's nice but, when spying on everyone ... that's sad. I can understand when it comes to crime.
