Mickey is confused

He has no idea where Tinker is.
He saw us put him in a carrier, and in the car. He went yesterday so that the vet could be sure he had no food and drink before his surgery.
We will take Mickey with us tomorrow when we go get Tink. Mickey needs all of his shots.
Mickey comes in the door, and out the door, and looks all over outside.Mickey comes to me, and paws my lap. He gets up, he gets down. He checks out all the rooms.
It is not that they are chummy and cuddly when in the house, but they are each part of the other one's life.
Mickey is likely thinking "Now where did that fool kid get off to?"

He is being a bit cuddly. Hard to eat oatmeal with a cat in your lap.

Yes, they will look out and around for each other. Mickey is the "big brother" and is at least two years older than Tinker.

Yep. Very necessary. I hope it will make him easier to get to come back in. He still acts "kittenish" but he is very much full grown.

@BarBaraPrz Oh, I won't. He will not stay upset long, though.

@GardenGerty And I bet you didn't explain all this to him, either. He'll be very surprised next time he goes to lick there. Don't expect him to thank you.

They do wonder where their "roommates" are.

Yes, they do. Tinker was a tiny kitten when Ann found him and she had to bottle raise him. I am sure Mickey feels responsible, as an older sibling.

That's right. Each of them have their own routines. They do not fight, but the race on the food.

He is hiding out at this moment. He must know we are going to take him to the vet.

Well, Tink had never been to a vet. Mickey has not been since Ann got him about three years ago. He was a fully grown shelter cat when she adopted him. I am sure the shelter got his shots for him, and they neutered him as well.
