Personal Worth and Value

In reading about Paula Faris' new book "Called Out: Why I traded The Dream Jobs for a Life of True Calling" I wondered how many of my friends here on Mylot and online are identifying with job and career and not the true calling of their lives. She was co-anchor of Good Morning America and co-host of The View for quite a while now and had gotten burned out. The book is about how she came to realize what her true calling in life is after personal tragedy and decisions about her personal life. Are we happy with where we are in life? Is our career enough? Is it our "true calling"? For me, I was very happy with my job in customer service but knew it took a bad seat to the problems my family was having and I was lucky to get early retirement. How about yourself?...

Have to read her book but seems to be taking care of her family and some religious things she is doing.

No idea! I love being a writer but I'm still not sure if that's already it.

I retired years early cause my husband landed a decent job. And cause of that decent job, we moved and cause of that move, we left what supported me emotionally. And here I am, above the poverty line in one way and below in another. Such it is.

I was happy in my jobs but not with the people I was working with. I was glad to retire early on disability.
