Apple Pie from Scratch

I made an apple pie from scratch this evening after our dinner. We had 4 apples that were starting to shrink and getting old. I had no appetite to eat them these last few days and I did not want to throw them either. So I made an apple pie.
I still had ready-made filo crust in my freezer and so I used it for making the pie. Thankfully I had everything I needed. It is the first time I baked apple pie with filo crust but it turned out well. It was delicious.
For the ingredients, I only used besides apples, lemon juice, a bit of sugar, honey, cinnamon and of course the filo crust.
Have you baked apple pie before? How I wish I could give you some.
Thank you for reading. Enjoy your weekend.

This reminds me again of the recipe that I saw when I was young. Baked apples with raisins. Until now I have not tried it yet.

You can still try baking the apple pie with raisins @Alexandoy. I wanted to add raisins but I didn´t have raisins anymore. Thank you.

@thelme55 the recipe is to insert the raisins inside the apple after removing the core. Then baking it. Until now I still wonder how it would taste.

Nice
and you used up things that you already had. Oh I wish I could have a piece of that
. I have made apple pie before, but it's been a very long time. We make apple crumble instead (which has an oatmeal type topping rather than a crust top and bottom).

What a beautiful pie! I bet it tastes delicious, too. I am too lazy to make it from scratch, I'm sorry to say. My mother used to, but not often. Those pies were sooooo good! It's funny, later in life she and I would go on walks and we'd see leaves turning a certain reddish color and I told her that color reminded me of the apple pies she used to make. It was the hint of that kind of pink from the cinnamon.

Yes, it was delicious @CinnamonGrl. You have a wonderful memory of the apple pie and your mother. The cinnamon makes the pie not only smells delicious but also tastes good.
