Help! My Zinnia has Lice!

Lice on Zinnia plant

Yes, I have found it today when I was watering the plants. They were plenty that I have to shower the Zinnia plant in the pots. It was awful and I felt like scratching my skin seeing them. I had to use gloves to get rid of them. I am not contented yet and so I bought a spray bottle to put water and washing detergent to spray to that plant later. Do you have any idea how to get rid of plant lice? Any idea? I hope the newly planted rose which was next to the Zinnia was not contaminated. My zinnia was about to bloom. I hope I can still cure it. So, how was or is your Monday? Mine is fine. I will tell you about my walking in the city after I have eaten dinner. Thanks for reading.

Looks like white flies to me. Use dish wash solution with a few drops of oil, any cooking oil is fine. Spray under the leaves as well. These flies keep returning, so keep spraying twice daily until the disappear. May take a 5-7 days.

@thelme55 oil makes the solution cling onto their bodies and trap them in it till they die, you can clean off later it a good spray of water.

I haven't heard of plant lice. Maybe they are the same as what we call aphids.

Spray soapy water and leave the the plant in the sun. That's what I'd probably do. Lady bugs would love to feed on them, too.

I would use a solution with vinegar and garlic juice but I have not had that issue with my plants.

its very sad thing but as I can see your recent one discussion that your zinnia bloomed well as this one old discussion so I am sure you get a solution of it. I am not familiar with this kind of thing.

In India people put leaves spray. That kills insects on top of leaves. But if lice comes in contact of human hair, then there has to separate application of shampoo.

@thelme55 Yes I know in India, children are taken to doctors because lice also eats into blood of scalp and really creates damages.

I just came back from shopping, we emptied the fridge over the weekend as if we were termites ... About this your problem, I'm not sure, but there has to be a solution at an agricultural pharmacy or something similar, I don't know if you have it there..

Lol! You are funny being termites @LowRiderX. I don´t want to go to a nursery to ask and so I asked here as I know there are many here at Mylot who are good at gardening. Thank you.

@LowRiderX I think I spent 2 hours in the kitchen almost every day. I like it that we have leftovers as I can have saved time for myself. I think I know who that lady is. I have not seen her for a while now.
