The Dolls Dressmaker

The dolls dressmaker is a bit different from a normal book in several ways. It is actually a pattern book which contains several patterns for different sorts of dolls clothes. It does not have patterns for making the dolls themselves because the author assumes that the reader will already own their own dolls. But there are lots of pictures of dolls wearing the clothes made from the patterns in the book. There are patterns in the book that will fit dolls of all different shapes and sizes, and can be sewn, knitted or crocheted.

I have quite a few old magazines about dolls and how to make clothes etc. So I can understand how nice it is to look through that. Are you planning on making some ?

I used to make dolls clothes when I was young but I don't do this anymore because I do not own any dolls. When I was learning to crochet, I started out by making a poncho for my doll. When other girls , and their mums, saw my dolls poncho they would ask me to make one for their doll. So I ended up making several and I enjoyed making them.

@lazydaizee it is fun to dress them. I think most of us never grow out of our love of dolls

@bunnybon7 I knew a girl who had a baby size doll and her mum let her have her old baby clothes to dress the doll in. The doll and the clothes were really sweet.

There isn't much books now that shows doll making or dressmaking. In my younger years, I used to loved dolls but after so many years there are stories already of scary dolls and my nieces got scared an so we got rid of them.

I know that some dolls do look scary. This is because they look like miniature people and have eyes that move. I remember being scared of a doll I owned as a child because the dolls head kept falling off. It gave me the creeps.
